Sideswipe (Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen) Review
Sideswipe Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (Hasbro)I'm not really into Transformers all that much, but that doesn't mean I don't like them. I was on a quick Transformers kick during which I picked up Sideswipe at my local Wal-mart, and he is pretty impressive. Like most Transformer figures, I had trouble transforming him at first, but after a few successes I was able to do it with relative ease. His feet are kind of weird because instead of having feet, he has wheels. I suppose you think this makes it pretty hard to stand him up, and you are correct sir and/or madam. However, once you get him to stand, it gets pretty easy to pull off some dynamic poses. Appearance wise Sideswipe looks pretty freaking cool. His vehicle mode is a Corvette with some good looking blue tinted windows, and a flat plastic silver which could have looked a thousand times better in chrome, but I guess the shiny age of toys (the 90s) is over and I have to move on. His robot mode can't get any cooler, he has an impressive head, the coolest of any Transformer I've ever bought, and the blades coming from his arms are anything but lame, and without them, he's probably lose a lot of his visual appeal. The only problem I have with this figure, is a big one. Whenever you try to transform this guy, some of his parts may get stuck, and at times you don't realize this until you're almost done, and it can get so bad I want to throw this thing against my wall. But other than that, this is my favorite Bayformer so far, and I'm enjoying him thoroughly.
There is a mod you can do to his feet to make him stand but it isn''t movie accurate. I wish they''d had made him G1 red but instead they repainted him red with a new name and head later in the line. I mostly bought him as i love this corvette design.
