Although I don't watch as much anime as I feel I should nowadays, the new Ranma 1/2 anime by MAPPA is one of my current favorites. Coming well after the original anime that ended long before the manga did and was generally bogged down by filler and unneeded changes, getting a more manga-accurate adaptation was great news for fans, and the second season was a whole lot funnier. While I wait for the "special announcement" next month (no doubt season three confirmation) and the new S.H. Figuarts to release, I'll be looking at the other character from the first SHF run I have: Ranma's somewhat unwilling fiancée, Akane Tendo. Prior to creating InuYasha, one of my favorite anime and manga series, Rumiko Takahashi created Ranma 1/2, a series much more on the comedic side. We probably all know about it by now, but it revolves around a boy who finds himself in an arranged marriage with a girl just as skilled at martial arts as he is, but there's just one problem: he turns into a girl whenever he's splashed with cold water. As the series goes on, more and more characters are introduced, bearing their own quirks, and it's a mishmash of action, comedy, romance, and good ol' fashioned chaos.
