1991 marked a turning point for Nickelodeon, as they began putting out their own original cartoons known as Nicktoons, some not as recognizable as others. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters is one of the lesser-known ones, but I feel it's gotten more attention nowadays thanks to some video games. Mattel did a great line of toys back when it was still new, but Mondo put out a new set of figures as part of their Squads line around the end of last year. Although more than a few months late, the recent SDCC reveals made me decide to discuss these monsters. The box these figures come in is massive and bears a Krumm and Oblina motif. Unlike the dumpster fire it is now, MTV was the home to plenty of music videos and iconic series. Beavis and Butt-Head is one everybody remembers, but it also managed to spawn a spin-off in Daria, revolving around one of the few sane people in Highland moving out and experiencing the usual struggles of adolescence. While different in tone from its successor, it's relatable topics and well-written stories made it just as popular, but it hasn't gotten much in the way of merchandise. Last year, Mondo sought to change that with a two-pack of figures, as part of their new "Squads" line. Mondo figures tend to have attractive box art, and Daria is no exception.
