DC Super Heroes (Mattel) Reviews
Supergirl (White Shirt)
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 3.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
The face really makes or breaks a figure. Would you buy a Superman figure if he looked like Chuck Norris? Ok, bad example, of COURSE you would buy that, you'd buy 100 actually and erect a shrine to his honor, but you wouldn't buy this Supergirl, even though she looks like a man, and that may be close to Chuck Norris, but it's not enough. If this Supergirl had the Head of Chuck Norris, her quality would sky-rocket a thousand-fold, but since she's just ugly, you'll see a thousand of them sitting on the store-pegs. This Supergirl wears the suit she had on the Superman Cartoons, white shirt and gloves, blue skirt, red cape and boots. The skirt is made of rubber, and it looks fine, but it's sort-of flowing, the Supergirl I remember had a tighter skirt to make her hips look slimmer. The cape...[See More]

Horrible false-advertising of the face, enough to rival Marvel''s.

I seen this fig at Wal Mart and was really disappointed. You hit it on the nose with the false advertising.

I got her because I knew I could use her body for something. The face is really the only horrible flaw on her
Doomsday
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.90 stars by Henchmen4Hire
This Doomsday is a TREMENDOUS improvement over the original 5-inch scale version. It looks just as impressive but has more articulation and height, traits the old one lacked. This looks better to me than even the other 6-7-inch Doomsday, AKA: The-Ridiculously-Expensive version. Why pay over $100 for that other one when you can get this one for about 9 bucks! The Jagged Juggernaut stands a little over 6 1/2 inches, in perfect scale with ML figures, but I'm not so sure about the DCSH line he's in. Bizarro is taller than him, and last time I checked, Bizarro is as tall as Superman, and Superman is supposed to be smaller than Doomsday, something is screwy! In any case, Bizarro won't be standing for long if he tangles with this guy, hah. Doomsday is built like a rock, and weighs like one too....[See More]

Uuuuuh, ok, the feet in the picture I took look the same, but they aren''t! It''s just the angle of the shot that makes them look the same. I''m not insane yet! I swear!
Bizarro
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.90 stars by Henchmen4Hire
In a world of backwards talking, dim-witted super-clones, Bizarro sticks out like a sore thumb, a big dumb sore thumb. The Bizarro released for the 90's Superman cartoon (the greatest cartoon of all time) was very accurate to that show, but DC needed to release a new 6-inch 'Zarro to match the one in the comics. They did a good job but they gave him a super-ticked-off face! Those big yellow teeth are clenched and bared to the gums so he looks like he's seething with rage! The Bizarro I remember never got that angry, he always had a quizzical look on his face or a big dumb smile. This figure doesn't even have pupils, the eyes are completely yellow. Also, some genius decided it would be a good idea to paint some "oil" on his face. Why would they paint oil on his face!? Is he ticked-off...[See More]

The best part of this figure is the Comic Book...and being able to make him into a nifty Punisher..

Batman
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 3
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
What? Plastic Batman Reincarnation No.47,834? Great... At first glance, hurrah, it's just another Batman, but with the 6-inch-scale-craze Marvel started, this Batman deserves another look, even though lots of other 6-inch Batmen have been made, and even if only as fodder for your next custom. :) This newest Batman stands about 6 1/2 inches, and it is a fine addition to your army of Batmen. He wears the classic grey and blue colors with the new bat-symbol engraved on his chest (I think this blue/grey suit looks strange without the original yellow symbol though). The detail is outstanding. Stitches, wrinkles, and shading abound. The head alone is something to be proud of. The white eyes stand out against the darker shading, the mask is well-sculpted, and the ears are just the right...[See More]

That may be true but I''m pretty sure representatives from DC oversee the sculpting process to make sure the toy is on-model. I''d like to think they have say in articulation as well. I''d like to think DC doesn''t just give Mattel permission to do whatever the hell they want, that''s how bad figures are made! :P

Azrael
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 3
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I had no clue who Azrael was when I saw him on the store-pegs but when I noticed there were only two of him and about a hundred Batmans, Robins, and Mr Freezes, I figured he had to be short-packed (and apparently he is at 1-per-case) so I snatched him up. Maybe I can re-sell him later and buy some soap, right? Azrael stands lithely at about 6.25 inches to the top of his head and 6.5 inches to the tip of his hood. The suit has a dark-red/bronzed color scheme and oh boy what a suit it is. Of all the hoods I've seen on action figures, this guy has one of the best. Nicely-shaped and it doesn't limit the ball-jointed head movement at all. His head is all black with white eyes and a red design over his nose and mouth. He has two capes, the first layer is a kind of sash with a detailed gold...[See More]
Doomsday
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 3.50 stars by ghost-rider
i looked for this figure for almost 2 months and i just found him! when i opened the box he was in a pose where it looks like he seemingly burst out of chains! i immediately had him fight my superman returns superman!!! he has 25 points of articulation, stands about 6" tall and has the face of the most hideous being the man of steel has ever clashed with!!! his protrusions are made of soft rubber which is a good and bad thing. the soft rubbers don't hurt anyone but they sure pop off easy, i mean they fall off easily. the face was also made of rubber and the instant i took him outta the packaging it started to peel off. the sculpt was very good! the muscles looked big and strong due to outlining and i don't know what mattel was thinking with his head, it's too small!!! the body is this...[See More]
