DC Super Heroes (Mattel) Reviews
Batgirl (Cassandra Cain)
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 7
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Ever since I read Destruction's Daughter (TPB), I've wanted this figure made for DCSH. I was hoping for a new body sculpt, but you can't win 'em all... Cassie stands about 5.85 inches, which is great scale-wise since she's supposed to be a tad smaller than the others. Yes, she has the same body and cape as Barbara from the 2-pack, only the belt and head are different. The figure is casted entirely with black plastic so there is no paint-chipping at all. As with all comic-characters, I know there are several different artists who like to draw Cassie with varying pouch-sizes and breast-symbols, I mean bat-symbols!, so I can't complain too much about the puffy belt and bat on this figure. It's a great belt, it's even painted so well that it looks like real sandy-leather (not bright yellow),...[See More]

she comes with the same batarang as babs, which was taken from S3 batman. i think the silver highlights are to help break up the black; they weren''t in the comic, and they dont add much, but it does look a bit less bland.

I found it in the pack, I just didn''t know how many she came with to make the review sounds less like guesswork :P
Clayface
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 8
Rated 4.50 stars by Lord_Khan
Matt Hagen, actor turned monster by chemical manufacturer Roland Daggett. At least I think that's the Clayface they're trying to go for, but Mattel doesn't seem to like putting any information about the character on the packaging other than the character's name. So I'll just assume it's Matt Hagen Clayface. Sculpt: The sculpt is fantastic, like most of Four Horsemen's stuff, but even moreso on this guy. He looks like dripping clay, as he should. His arms are even longer than his legs, as if his legs are being compressed by his weight and his arms are stretching down due to gravity, but I suppose that that's probably largely because thats what he looks like in the comics, rather than 4H just deciding to make it like that. Articulation: This has about as much articulation as your...[See More]
Mongul
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 5
Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I love how all the DCSH figures have their own original sculpt. Each figure isn't just a recast and repainted version of an older figure in the line. Darkseid and Steel were fantastic, and Mongul is no exception. The unjolly pink giant stands in at about 7.2 inches of raw, un-matched brawns. This guy looks ridiculously powerful, even with the lavender and pastel-colored clothes. Instead of the bland suit-design Mongul has in the comics, this figure was given a more realistic design, and the detail is phenomenal! Rivets, cables, grooves, armored plating, the works. The paint-job is super-smooth, and even all the little metallic rivets are individually painted (although some of them are a little blotchy, but not very noticeable). The large clunky boots are metallic lavender, so are many of...[See More]

Darkseid
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 4
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
After thinking a better Darkseid than the Total Justice version couldn't be made, I was proven horribly worng. The DCSH version is a tremendous improvement. Best of all, no useless action features! The omnipotent ruler of Apokalips towers over his subjects at 7 inches tall. This is a large imposing figure, as it should be. Like all the DCSH figures, paint is minimal since most of the plastic is cast in the correct color to begin with (like the grey skin and blue suit) and it looks great. If you're going to give this figure to a kid to beat on, the chance of paint chipping is almost nil! The only parts painted are the face + red eyes, the thin black line-detail on the suit, and MAYBE the belt because I suspect the plastic was cast like that. It's silvery-blue (like blue paint with some...[See More]

Exactly! The mother-box remote thing comes pre-packaged in his hand, tied with a little rubberband, and it comes out easily, but just TRY putting that sucker back in there without ripping a few fingers!
Parasite
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 5
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
All I know about the Parasite is what I saw in the "Superman: TAS" cartoons, which isn't much now that I think about it. So I was surprised to see this Parasite figure on the store-pegs, looking like a big purple deep-sea monster or like Caliban from the X-Men. Parasite is 6.5 inches of ugly. He's built with hulking muscle and held together with thin white straps, assuming those are actually straps on his body and not just very painful tattoos. He's about 6.25 inches when he's hunched-over, which is how you're supposed to pose him because his head doesn't move up and down, it only turns side-to-side and tilts around ever-so-slightly. It's not that the designers got lazy and didn't articulate his head, it's just...[See More]

The upperbody has the shape of a tick, should probably have mentioned that
And the paint might just have been bad on this figure, it was the only one on the pegs at Target so I couldn''t look around for better jobs.
Supergirl (Blue Shirt)
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 3
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Have any of the people sculpting the DCSH figures ever even SEEN Supergirl? Are they sculpting blind? Did the boss's son sculpt her head and everyone is too afraid to tell them "It sucks"? That's the only plausible scenario I see for the face on this figure. It's the same head as the previous Supergirl in this line but with different hair. Supergirl does not look 40 years old. Supergirl does not wear so much makeup. Supergirl does not have ashy-tan skin. Someone get this message to the proper parties. Although, if this Supergirl was based on the new scantily-clad anorexic one appearing in the comics, then okay, I can see the resemblance, good job guys! :) Enough about the face and skin, on to the rest!...[See More]

Yep, I figure they based her looks on the comics, I''m used to the cartoon Supergirl which is why I like the DC Direct - Superman Series version a lot more. This one has great articulation though....time to swap heads

I am still hunting this figure down she looks awesome. However Doc she may not be the Old school supergirl that died in Crisis. Who had a distinctlivly different look. Nor is she the Alien (non Kryptonian) replacement that was in the cartoon and in a short lived comic series of her own (sprouting wings and turning into an angel)who also looked different. But she''ll go in my collection as the hottest Sg ever. And she looks just like the new (finally has a real purpose to kill her cousin Superman) Sg in her own series on shelves everywhere. As soon as I can I am buying like 4 of her.
Steel
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 3
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Has there ever been a bad-looking Steel figure? No, never. And this DCSH version is the best so far! Steel stands 6.5 inches tall, in-scale with the other DCSH figures. I thought this fig would just be a repainted Superman but the muscles are larger and it has sculpted armor on the boots and some bolts on the stomach, the basic color-scheme is flat-silver and dark gun-metal. The rivets and armor plates look great. -He has a rubbery belt with two "boxes" on either side. They have flexible ribbed hoses that connect to the top-side of the boots. Is this his flight-system? I don't remember Steel ever wearing this belt, but then again I've only seen him a few times in comics so what do I know :} I think he would look better without it though. -The left forearm has that big manacle-thing he...[See More]

Bizarro
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.00 stars by eminem
This is my first review for figure realm so bear with me. Bizarro stands at 6.7 inches tall and one huge chest. The chest would be fine if his legs were longer, but they are the right thickness. Moving on to his symbol. It is placed in right place (which does help). The problem with mine is that the paint had chipped in two places and looked liked someone had sneezed with the paint brush in there hand. Now for his head. He still looks as ugly as ever but not stupid. (Hmm) His hair is black with blue highlights, don’t remember that in the cartoons. Even his eyebrows are black with blue highlights and his eyes are yellow. He has also got a faint golden paint on his face?! On to his cape now. It has a few holes in it and is kind of flexible. Why not make it out of cloth it would be so much...[See More]

Superman
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.90 stars by Henchmen4Hire
You've got to keep the kids happy, and by "kids" I mean the large hairy men who buy action figures, so DC said "YES! YE MEN SHALL HAVETH THINE WISHES!" And so they bequeathed upon us these multi-articulated DC Super Heroes figures! Supes stands 6 1/4 inches (and a little taller if you count his hair) so he's actually in-scale with the Marvel Legends figures! The body's muscle is lean and moderated for the most part, not over-hulking like previous Superman figures. The chest-symbol is crisply painted but the paint-job on the yellow belt is a little crude. As always, paint-quality will vary so check before you buy. The blue parts are blue plastic to start with so you don't have to worry about paint chipping, the red parts look painted but they have the same tough-to-damage look about them....[See More]

Doomsday
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Tom-Tom
About 13 years ago, the badass Doomsday appeared and (long story short) killed Superman. Some people think you can't be a comic fan (even if it's Marvel) without knowing this. Then basically nothing. He has appeared since then, but nothing was as dramatic since, he hasn't re-killed Supes. Oh well. Doomsday has had only 4 action figures so far: Hasbro made one about 11 years ago, DCD in 2003, this version (DCSH) and another by Mattel last September for JLU. Onto the review! Sculpt- I don't care what you say, this is not a scaled down figure of DCD's. He has a few differences, but they are not the same! Okay, goosfraba. His main body is made out of hard plastic, while the face (he has a head underneath) and spikes/bones are rubber, for the little ones. His sculpt works pretty well with...[See More]

Yeah, the shoulders are a pain in the arse sometimes, I had to trim off some of the little spikes to let the shoulders move all around. The feet on mine are to frikkin annoying, they''re angled (as you can see in the review picture) and refuse to change
You can review any figure you want in this place, wether reviewed already or not, the more the merrier. I like reading other people''s gripes and praise, I get tired of writing sometimes
