Batman (Batman Begins)
Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Everyone and their sexy grandma already has this figure, so if you don't believe what I say in this review, just go ask your friend's grandma to show you her toys. That should be fun. Bats stands a hair under 6-inches tall, over 6 if you count the ears. I think he's under-sized for the DCUC line, but remember, this ISN'T the DCUC line, it's the MOVIE MASTERS line, so you can't really complain...it still annoying though, lol. There's no way to describe in words how detailed the suit is, so it suffices to say it looks as complex as it does on-screen. Even the soles and belt are ultra-detailed (is that an Ipod on the left side!? Dammit Batman, you're supposed to oppose evil, not flaunt it on your belt!). The narrow cape is stiffly-flexible, it's nothing fancy so don't expect any dramatic...[See More]

I had a problem with this figures height and its down to the head, I swaped mine with a Dark Knight head as they made them the same design and added the posable cape from that 5inch figure. It is posted as one of my customs, but yeah amazing what a simple head swap and cape swap can do to make a detailed but lacking figure into one of my favorite simple customs.
Joker
Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Series 1
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
This figure sucks. Lol, you should have seen the look on your face, priceless! Jokes stands under 6 inches, around 5.8. I think this figure was rushed for production, both when sculpting/designing it and when on the factory line being painted, it's little things that are bugging me. The hair looks bland, chunky, too round. I'm not used to seeing this kind of blandness from the 4 Horsemen, the thick paint apps make it look worse. The face is alright, but the make-up isn't. Mini-Heath here looks like a stoner instead of like the crazed looney he portrayed on-screen. The right sleeve's cuff has button and slot detail while the left is plain, was this on purpose? Is that how it was in the movie? The buttons/slots down the front of the purple coat are faded, as if it was cast imperfectly....[See More]
Necromancer
Spawn (McFarlane) - Series 14 - Dark Ages Spawn 2
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Remember when McFarlanes were worth buying? I do, you could get them cheap at discount stores and they came packed with accessories, and the figure was pretty cool to boot! Even the packaging was awesome, lots of graphics, they even came with instructions on where to put all those crazy weapons and items! The 90s were great times for McFarlane, seemed like they were doing lots of cool stuff like Danger Girl and Metal Gear Solid. Here's a great example, I got the Necromancer figure from the Spawn: Dark Ages line for a buck! The accessories alone made this worth the buy, but the figure made me freak, it looks just like my friend Catherine (a little too much eye-shadow, but still!) Don't you just love it when a figure looks like someone you know? Creepy and cool. So here we go, a review!...[See More]
Oil Slick
Transformers - Animated (Hasbro) - Deluxe
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
This thing looks like a cross between Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Brainiac, a ninja, and Satan thrown-in for good measure, obviously this is an instant must buy because you will never see something this cool ever again. This figure looks poisonous, it's like those creepy little frogs in neon colors that dare you to touch them, you know you'll die but you just can't resist! Apparently Oil Slick is a top-notch mechanic and chemist, and trained in "Circuit-Su" with Prowl. CIRCUIT-SU! AWESOME! He makes a kind of fear-toxin that brings-out the greatest fears in robots...okay, lol, it's also a powerful acid that dissolves vital components, so I guess you can throw Scarecrow into that list I gave, also Cacturne, look it up, it's creepy as hell. So anyway, this TF looks cool in either mode....[See More]
Robin
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
darn, seems like fan-opinions are split right down the middle on this figure. Too short! Just right! Body looks too old! Face looks too young! Gah! I liked the size, I'm used to the little kid I saw in the old Batman cartoons, and he looks like 16 or 17 when displayed on it's own. But then I stood Robin next to my DC Direct Supergirl (white/blue costume from the Superman line), the figure by which I measure all other figures' quality :P and he really does look very small. I mean, Supergirl is like 18 or 21, and she's pretty much towering over Robin, making him look like 12. Meh. It doesn't bug me enough to make a custom with his parts, I'll just have to do some strategic posing and displays... Robin is a spunky 5.35 inches, up to you whether that's good or bad. This is the...[See More]
Solomon Grundy
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I'm surprised how well Grundy translated into a more realistic-looking figure. The proportions of the body are a little grotesque and they work perfectly, blending the cartoony with the real. More importantly, it doesn't just look like a Hulk figure in a suit, it is an original model, this figure stands alone. Grundy is laughably huge. Almost 9.5 inches, what in all the hells has he been eating that made him so gigantic!? Many thanks to the 4 Horsemen for delivering epic figures like this but 10 inches!? I've never seen Grundy this big! He's only supposed to be like 8 feet tall, this is just crazy. He is noticeably out of scale like the SDCC Lobo figure, I'll never understand why the head cheeses make these kind of decisions. Of course, he really may be that huge in the comics, I liked...[See More]
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Hal is pretty much what we were all expecting, it's such a simple character-design that there's no way to mess it up. Hal stands about 6.25 inches tall, no complaints there since almost all the male-figures of this line are the same size. Of course, I could complain that they are all the same size and should vary...but no, I'm not feeling that pricky tonight :] I think the jaw is a little too wide, but not enough to make me rage uncontrollably, this figure is a welcome addition to any DC collection. This looks like the Hal I saw in the 90's, I wish they had a "disheveled variant" with the messy hair and stubble, that'd be the bee's knees for sure. Wonder what suit they'll give Jon Stewart if they make him? Please not that ugly old suit from Mosaic! It looks like the body is made...[See More]
Sinestro (Blue / Black Suit)
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 3
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Sinestro!... lame. And now to elaborate. Sins stands 6-inches tall. Yes, he's 6-inches, not 5, but 6-inches. So why are so many people complaining? What I think happened here is that the 4 Horsemen didn't know how to handle Sinestro's large forehead. It looks like they were supposed to make a normal slim body with a large forehead, but instead they shortened the body because of his large forehead. No guys, that's wrong, his body isn't supposed to change height, all you had to do was make a figure with a large head, that's it, no other alterations necessary, and everyone goes home happy. This figure does a good job of balancing thin and muscular, but he's too small. It's unacceptable. You'll hear that word a lot more in the rest of my reviews of this series's figures. Anyway, assuming...[See More]
Thing (Stomp 'N Clober)
Fantastic Four - Movie (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
The Movie Thing is 7 inches of orange delight. This is my favorite Thing figure so far, if I can find the one with more poseability (sacrificing the sound effects) I'd have to buy that one too. The sound effects this one makes are addictive like Brawl's from the Leader-class figure from Transformers. Bet you can't stomp just once! The right hand and left foot can be slightly pressed and 2 different noises sound, sounds like crates breaking on the hand and a general WHAM! on the foot. I'm surprised that the articulation at the ankle and hand are NOT sacrificed! Even the boots still turn! But it is sacrificed at the shoulder and hip of those parts, which is worse I think. That's why I'd like the more articulated version as well. The paint on the pants is great, very crisp, the dry-brushing...[See More]
Orion
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 1
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Orion stands about 6.5 inches to the top of his helmet, which is fine with me! These new DCUC figures feel much sturdier than the old DCSH figs, maybe it's the legs that actually close all the way that give that impression, whatever, they feel nice in hand. The golden harness is flimsy but amazingly detailed and adds depth to an otherwise bland and pretty straight-forward figure. I didn't believe Buzzy Fret when he said the blue parts were actually purple, but they are! They look purple with sky-blue mixed-in, which looks like an odd combination of colors on the mainly red body, but it works I guess, heaven forbid I should argue with Jack Kirby's designs or I'd be STRICKEN AND CAN'T LET YOU GO! WHEN THE HEART IS COLD, THERE'S NO HOPE, AND WE KNOW- oops, listening to too much of...[See More]
