Spider-Man (Black Costume) Spider-Man - Classics (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire The only character more popular, more loved, more idolized than our friendly neighborhood Spiderman is none other than the Black-Suit Spiderman! Okay, it's the same guy so that doesn't count, but since it is the same guy, that just goes to show how much everyone around the world loves Spiderman. It was only a matter of time before this Spidey was made a Legend but interestingly, he was made in a series of his own, Spiderman Classics (SMC), not with the Marvel Legends series. I think he was also made as a Marvel Selects release, and maybe even in some other line as well, so good luck finding them all!
There isn't much to say detail-wise, but I'll try to elaborate! Black-Suit Spiderman stands 5.85 inches, and since he's supposed to be smaller than your average hero, he is perfectly...[See More]
The only thing I didnt like about it was the lack of bicep articulation, but its still one hell of a good figure. There is a Marvel Select figure coming out of BC Spider-man but only with 13POA i think? I agree about the base, its one of the best early ones done.
You''re right, the arms are a little annoying to pose, but the forearm swivels near his wrists help a little. I agree, the lack of the bicept articulation does make his arms pose in awkward positions...Is yours loose yet?
I got mine when it came out in 2003 I think and opened it in the car on the way home. All my figures are loose because I think its a shame to keep it boxed. I gave all my 5inch figures to my friends kid and my little girl loves the ML line s they will all go to her when im done with them. I dont collect for investment and wont pay too much over retail for them because they wont stay sealed.
Mr. Sinister Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 10 - The Sentinel Series Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire Everyone's favorite immortal/psychic vampire/genetic-engineering-genius/soul-reaver/evil-incarnate is finally put into a respectable scale! What's that Mr Sinister?...I must write a sparkling review about you or you'll eat my soul?...sounds reasonable...
Just when I thought Thor was a tall as they came, Sinister comes along and tops him at 7.2 inches! He is massive, the muscle is perfect, and the detail is amazing. His pale face is chiseled out of gravestone while the chrome-red eyes shine brightly like the red jewel on his forehead. He has that classic 80's flat-top hair and even a goatee. I couldn't find any paint-flaws on him (since not much of him is painted anyway, lol). There is intricate scroll-work on his chrome-red belt, blue rubber shoulderpads, and gloves. The blood-red stone...[See More]
here in the philippines, the mr sinister that came out is more expensive the other figures.. ussually ML figures are P399.75 but the mr sinister figure came out at P800 up... dont know why??
Whoa, twice the price!? @_@ How much is that in US dollars?
X-Men Legends Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Box Sets Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire I suspected Toy Biz would do with Wolverine what Kenner did with Batman, and they did. Many variations of Wolvie have been made, like the brown-suit and un-masked versions, but since these are Marvel Legend-type figures, people will shell out the cash for every single one. The good thing is that the variations are all worth buying because they all represent Wolverine as he was and is in different eras of his life. I wonder if they'll make and release the very first Wolverine, the one with whiskers! This review is for the un-masked Wolvie that comes in the ML X-men gift pack.
Wolverine stands 6 inches to the top of his head and 6 1/4 inches to the top of his awesomely wild hair. He isn't exactly supposed to be the tallest guy in the world so he looks a little over-sized, but he has claws...[See More]
Black Panther Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 10 - The Sentinel Series Rated 4.99 stars by Henchmen4Hire These Marvel Legends sculpts just keep getting better and better with each passing series. New joint-types are introduced, character similarities are more accurate, and they even begin to smell better (not that I sniff them that is...).
Just mention Black Panther and everyone knows he's dark, stealthy, and lethal (if we wanted to be :P) even if they've never heard of him before. Likewise, you don't have to know who Black Panther is to find this figure very impressive (and if you like Batman, then a storage mystical power is going to force you to buy this guy).
Panther stands at almost exactly 6 inches tall (6.01 if you count his pointy ears) wearing a completely dark cat-suit with golden eyes, hand-claws, and accents. Panther has one of the best cat-suit sculpts. Even though the suit is...[See More]
Well, as soon as I get one I''ll review it :] Did anyone else find it wierd that Panther had a rough surface? I don''t think I''ve ever seen him like that, but it works
I think it was just to give it a more realistic feel. What I find weird is most of the fig was reused to make Wonder Man
Mystique Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 10 - The Sentinel Series Rated 3.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire There is nothing worse than false advertising by toy companies, NOTHING worse, especially when Toy Biz does it with their Marvel Legends.
Mystique stands exactly 6 inches tall. She wears her classic white dress with the a ring of bronzed skulls at her belt. Her skin is blue with yellow eyes and red lips, but for some reason her hair is not the vibrant red we all remember! It's brown instead with only a hint of red. But to be fair, she wouldn't look like a ML figure if her hair were bright red. Her face is pretty good, but don't stare at her for too long or you'll begin to notice that her face looks a tiny bit too wide. The white paint at the edges of her boots, gloves, and top is sometimes slightly blurry and sometimes so bad it's like a slap in the face. The white coat of paint is...[See More]
I must now write an angry letter to Toy Biz about Mystique
Thor Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 3 Rated 4.99 stars by Henchmen4Hire If you missed your chance to snag a Marvel Legends Thor for $7.99 while he was in stores, then prepare, oh foolish one, to spend tens of dozens of dollars on a ML Thor online. Dozens I say! I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Thor was a short-packed figure, which is why he is so pricey now. He goes for about 20 - 50 dollars depending whether he's still in the package or not. The up-side is that he's worth every penny you will pay (that's a lot of pennies). For the meantime; Hail Greatest Thor! Warrior of Legend, Master of Thunder and Lightning, Defender of Midgard, Surmounter of All Evils, Victor of All Battles Whether He Fought In Them Or Not, Rightful Heir to the Asgardian Throne!...etcetera, etcetera.
Thor towers over all lesser Legends at a truly mighty 7 inches! (7 1/2 inches...[See More]
I''m sure you''ll all be devastated to know that this will be my last Marvel Legends review, that is, until I get the other couple of Legends in the mail
Punisher (Movie) Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 6 Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire Despite what lots of Punisher fans said about Tom Jane not being the right man for the role, I still think he was a great pick. When Tom is caked with make-up to do some interview, yeah, he looks like any celebrity bum off the street, but when he's taken a few hits, is raging out, and is covered in his enemy's blood, as well as his own, then he looks like the Punisher we've come to know over the years. Luckily for us fans, this "movie version" Punisher was released in the Marvel Legends line. And despite the fact that it was released as a Marvel Legends figure, figures known by collectors everywhere for their exceptional quality (ironically I am not one of those collectors, ha), this Punisher had some minor flaws that have forced me to name him "The -Almost- Picture Perfect Punisher"......[See More]
Whoa, it''s longer than I thought I did make a little mistake at the end though. Where it says.... I meant... Sorry You dont have to keep putting these reviews on the front page if it''s too much trouble, Cap
Yea, I''m pretty sure this is your longest one yet! I promise it takes less time to add these to the Home page then it does for you to write them. You are doing such awesome work I wanted to share it with more users. Plus, maybe it will encourage some new writers. I made the correction on the Review. You''ve also got your mod status back if you want to update the post.
Wow! It''s like today is a beautiful new day! *Angels chant my name* Now I can destroy those annoying cell-phone ads someone keeps posting
Punisher Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 4 Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire Finally a non-statue, non-ugly, non-elusive, non-variant, non-expensive Punisher figure we can all afford!
Frank stands at a solid 6 1/4". Now, I've had the chance to measure a few other Punishers in stores and they were only very slightly over 6 inches, so I think my Punisher is just stretched out a little, a factory mistake maybe? Doesn't matter, all for the better. He wears his iconic white/black suit. White gloves, boots with dark-grey soles, belt and chest-skull over a dark suit. The detail on him is just amazing, from the pockets and clothes-folds to the well-made pouches and silver buckles on his boots. The skull is engraved at the edges and looks great. Both of his hands are sculpted with the index finger sticking out a little so he can hold weapons properly at the trigger,...[See More]
Everythin u said was true.. The very first figure that i bought when i started collecting Marvel Legends was this very same Punisher.. So it''s pistol has been missing for a very long time..
Spider-Woman Iron Man (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire Amazingly enough, Spider-Woman was made for Iron Man's line and not Spiderman's. It makes sense, what with Spider-Woman being vice-president of Stark Enterprises and all...
Spider-Woman stands at 4.90ish inches with articulation at the shoulders, knees, and hips. She has long orange-red hair and is dressed in a purple suit with long white gloves, boots, and spider-symbol on her chest and back. The boots and gloves are painted on, which actually looks better on her than sculpted ones. The paintjob on the edges of the white greatly varies from figure to figure. Some have clear, sharp lines while others are hazy or blurred and sometimes streaked. Look carefully before you buy.
Spider-Woman comes with a web-like object she can throw. When her arms are raised they lock up and there is a...[See More]
Hydro-Man Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Spider-Wars Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire You may think being able to manipulate water is a silly super-power, but when you consider that most of the planet is submerged in water, suddenly silly isn't quite the word...
Hydro man stands at 4.80 inches with articulation at the neck, shoulders, hips (full-range), knees, and waist. On the cartoon, Hydroman had the ability to control water and make it do his bidding so our Hydroman was given those massive clear blue arms and fists he liked to beat-up Spiderman with. They're sculpted so that they actually look like they're made of water and not just clear plastic, very well made. He wears bluejeans, brown boots/belt, and a black shirt (all of which are finely detailed), and that crazed look on his face he constantly had throughout the cartoon, as if he just ate 50 sugar packets and...[See More]
