Iron Man vs Mandarin (Green) Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Face Off Sets - Series 2 Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire There are hundreds of Iron Man suits, many of them outrageously designed, but I still like the simple suit he has for the Face-Off series. It's the only suit that looked like something a guy could actually wear without being laughed at.
Tony stands 6 inches tall, which is in-scale with other ML figures, but maybe he should have been a little bit taller? 6.25 maybe? I mean, he is wearing a robotic suit after all! There just HAS to be some added height with that kind of gear on! The face-mask is removable but Tony's face don't look too hot. I recommend keeping it on, assuming you CAN keep it on because it doesn't fit neatly on his helmet, you've got to twist it around and wedge it in, and even then there are still some little gaps around the edges. The whole figure is cast in plain red...[See More]
YOURE right Doc.I have one of those. This is one of the few iron-man suits which totally ROCK!!!!!!!!!! .Jin saotome just made a marvel vs capcom style Iron-man using this one.
I''ll trade you this one for the War machine variant. I found one at my wal mart and the Punisher with the Jigjagface variant. So, deal, or no deal?
Professor X Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 9 - Galactus Series Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire Finally, a fully articulated Xavier! If you think it's wrong that even his legs are poseable then obviously you are not a customizer. Please leave this review now. :)
Xavier stands 6 1/4 inches to the top of his perfectly-shaped head and wears the only suit he's ever worn for as long as the X-Men comics have been around. It's a dark greyish-blue and is molded in that color so you never have to worry about paint chipping anywhere. The only paint on it is the small area of the shirt that sticks-out and the black striped tie. The suit has creases, pockets, and painted buttons as detail. The part of the jacket on his torso is made of flexible material, kinda like a long vest. He has shiny black shoes for dancing...I mean, for sitting. :) The hands and head are painted with a smooth matte...[See More]
Kingpin (White Jacket) vs Daredevil (Masked) Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Face Off Sets - Series 1 Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire A few Daredevil figures have been made since the Marvel Legends line came out, and this Face-Off version seems the best, but that's not saying much :(
The Blind Devil stands about 6 1/4 inches tall, which is okay, but some people are inevitably going to complain "Why is he taller than everyone else!?". The head-sculpt is pretty good, Murdoc has a smirk on his face, but the little dimple on his chin is way off-center, the chin looks deformed! The part of his face that's showing is neatly painted flat-flesh but the border with the mask is a little sloppy. There are two small horns on his head but they are rounded off and look less-threatening. The main body is made of red plastic while the gloves and boots are made of darker-red plastic and the whole figure is shaded nicely. Why do I...[See More]
I got the maskless variant with the grimmacing Fatman (Kingpin) in the black jacket. If this were single carded I would have passed. The peanut shoulders are a big letdown. I figure we''ll get a decent masked DD in the not too distant future. Its sculpts like this DD that makes me wonder why fanboys were crying over the switch to Hasbro- which has done excellent work with Sigma 6 and Classic Transformers. Its not like we were going from Toybiz to Playmates. Anyway, this DD was more of a 2 or 2 1/2 star figure packed with a fairly decent (3 star) Kingpin figure and for me who didn''t have a DD figure it was an o.k. value. For those who already have a ML daredevil, you''re paying $18 for Kingpin. Gotta do what you gotta do, I ''spose.
Yep, I got this guy because I didn''t have a DD yet and I wanted Kingpin to make some comics. If DD were single-carded I would have passed too I hope they do make a less beef-jerkyish DD in the future. You''re right, I should have given him an even lower grade for not being able to be harvested for parts as easily
yeah, i think this DD''s costume is way to wrinkled, but still the best daredevil around. hasbro did announce a classic yellow costume DD, with a red variant in the nemisis series, but i don''t think they followed through with the production =(
Human Torch (Flame-On) Fantastic Four - Movie (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire You've gotta love translucent plastic with cool flashing light-up action and sound, and if you don't then there is something seriously wrong with you...like epilepsy.
Torchy stands 6 inches tall, and a little taller if you count his hair. Sound familiar? That's because this guy is just a Mr Fantastic re-cast in clear red plastic, he even has the same face for Pete's sake, minus the raised eyebrow. There are some minor modifications that make all the difference though. Since this guy isn't supposed to be able to "stretch" like Richards, the swivel-joints on the arms and legs have been moved back to "normal position" so the shoulders and hips are now standard swivel-hinges. The shoulder-sleeves are also gone, to make room for the batteries in his chest, and are well worth the sacrifice....[See More]
Take a closer look. This is sooo not a Reed Richards recast. (How''s that for some Stan Lee style alliteration.) The leg joints are in different places on the hip/thigh rotators. And the hair is obviously sculpted after Chris Evans'' close cropped buzz cut.
yeah, the body is totally just a re-cast. the joints are different be cause the torch doesn''t have to break up into a bunch of pieces so you can an attatch his extending parts. although the two figures might''ve been from the same series. so i don''t know weather the body was used on the torch first, or mr. fantastic.
Mr. Fantastic (Bendy Attachments) Fantastic Four - Movie (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire Never trust a guy who has a first name as the last and a last name as the first!
Reed Richards stands 6 inches tall (a little taller if you count his hair) and wears the nifty and more modern blue/black/grey version of the F4 suit. The "4" symbol on his chest is embossed and neatly painted (remember, paint-quality always varies from figure to figure!). Also there are cool neat little "4" buttons on the boots' cuffs, a nice touch of detail! I like how the black boots/gloves/collar are flat black, they look nice in contrast to the glossier blue plastic of the body. The grey areas also have a matte-finish and are neatly painted for the most part. The only part where they squiggle a little is near the inner-shoulder but it isn't very noticeable. The head-sculpt is amazing. The guy who played...[See More]
His hair isn''t too grey because it wasn''t very grey in the movie. He was just starting to get that distinctive Reed greyness after the mission into space.
Looks just like him! Yeah, well, it still looks like crap on the figure I got, very splotchy.
Superman DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 2 Rated 4.90 stars by Henchmen4Hire You've got to keep the kids happy, and by "kids" I mean the large hairy men who buy action figures, so DC said "YES! YE MEN SHALL HAVETH THINE WISHES!" And so they bequeathed upon us these multi-articulated DC Super Heroes figures!
Supes stands 6 1/4 inches (and a little taller if you count his hair) so he's actually in-scale with the Marvel Legends figures! The body's muscle is lean and moderated for the most part, not over-hulking like previous Superman figures. The chest-symbol is crisply painted but the paint-job on the yellow belt is a little crude. As always, paint-quality will vary so check before you buy. The blue parts are blue plastic to start with so you don't have to worry about paint chipping, the red parts look painted but they have the same tough-to-damage look about them....[See More]
i know, i just wanted to be the first. im gonna review him.
Moon Knight Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire With a name like "Moon Knight", how can you possibly go wrong buying the comics. I remember seeing Moon Knight as a very muscular guy, but this figure barely fits the "medium build" description, let alone the "barrel-chested" description I remember seeing.
Marc stands about 6 1/4 inches tall, so he's tall and lean, like a Scarecrow. As someone simply put it, "Moon Knight is just a Bullseye figure with Deadpool's head", and it looks like they're right (Havok has the same body too). I don't know about the gloves and boots, I've never seen a Bullseye up close, buy they look simple enough to be the same. They're silvery-white with silver rings at the cuffs and have some stitching-detail too. The boots have the same design. The belt is white with some silver accents and is made of flexible...[See More]
I don''t like the huge barrel chested heroes. For the speed that Moon Knight moves and how he fights, I really doubt he should he hugely muscles up. I think the body he has suits him fine. The gloves and boots aren''t Bullseye''s entirely. Only the foot part and the hands are. The gauntlet and cuff are original to the figure.
For the speed that Moon Knight moves and how he fights, I really doubt he should he hugely muscles up. Meh, apparently Batman has crazy reflexes and he''s all buffed up. Ya''d think more muscle means less effort to move yourself around. Hell, just look at Hulk I think medium-build is ideal for people, that is unless your job is wrestling grizzly bears...
...and personally I can''t stand huge beefed up depictions of Batman or Superman.
Iceman X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz) - Series 3 Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire Every team has to have an "ice guy" and Iceman is the X-Men's.
Iceman stands 6 inches tall. There isn't much to say about detail so I'll fill the rest of this review with tall tales of my childhood. In 1942, Adolf Hitler...just kidding...I think Iceman's body is the same as Silver Surfer's from the Marvel Legends line. So if you can't find a surfer then buy this icecube and spray-paint him with chrome. The hands are in a throwing or casting form, perfect for ice-shooting positions. The face is alright, no real detail since it's made of ice but you can definitely see the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. The entire figure is made of clear light-blue plastic and then dry-brushed with silvery-white. I don't know what color it is but it looks like pearl-white with a little silver mixed in, it...[See More]
figures that also use this body are besides silver surfer (which is a good Idea doc), ML Deadpool, ML Urban Daredevil, & Reed richards. They are all different like doc said. I have purchased 2 of these and One was all silvery and smooth. and the other was VERY CRUSTY. I must get a 3rd to make a silver surfer. here what I did with my iceman.
Nightcrawler Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 9 - Galactus Series Rated 4.90 stars by Henchmen4Hire Why they called him "Nightcrawler" I have no clue, he doesn't exactly look like a worm, but I guess the name fits in a strange way.
Kurt stands a tiny little bit under 6 inches, which is fine because he always looked a little smaller than everyone. He's lean and muscular in the perfect proportion but the paint-job could definitely have used a steadier hand. The edges of the red paint are slightly wavy instead of sharply straight and the all-yellow eyes are sloppily painted. Also there is some excess black paint on the white gloves and boots. The head-sculpt is okay, but he looks old, maybe 30, and he has a big double-chin. I don't remember Nightcrawler being that old or having that pronounced of a chin. And he has a sour look on his face, like he accidentally ate some brimstone. The skin...[See More]
I believe they call him Nightcrawler because part of his mutant ablitity is to blend into shadows. He is nearly invisible in the dark. Oh and I think his head looks like the shaved and defanged Beast.
Yup, this guy is well-made, it''s just the paint apps that annoyed me
Beast Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 4 Rated 5.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire Good ol' Hank, the smartest man in the world, when his skin turned blue, and hair did too, for a cure his mind drew blank. That's right, I rhymed. I've been waiting to get a Beast since he was given the ML treatment. The old 5-inch one was great but I like this one so much more. I've read a few other reviews on him and they weren't very glowing, I wonder why. He looks like he's supposed to and is the perfect height, so what's the problem? Did I just get the one perfectly crafted figure? Heh.
Beast stands intently at about 6.5 inches tall. I was wondering how well the sculptors were going to show the hair on his body, and it looks good! The majorly hairy-spots (like at the elbows) have heavily-sculpted hair while the rest of the body has a fine "hair-pattern", it works well. The muscles...[See More]
I like the XMC stealth Beast a bit better. I find this one a bit bulky(but its the only figure that can be posed standing on one hand) Not a bad figure but ML could have done better.
How hard is it to get the variant War Machine?
So, deal, or no deal?
