Mr. Miracle
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 6
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
Mr. Miracle! Just say that name to yourself like an old fashion circus barker and you will know why that name is awesome. He was also made by Jack "The King" Kirby which makes him doubly awesome. Mattel's been cranking out a lot of Fourth World characters with Mr. Miracle and the variant Doctor Immpossible toy as the latest examples. Mr. Miracle has a great sculpt. While he shares the same basic male body with the other characters from the line, his unique elements really shine and are an accurate translation of the two dimensional artwork to a three dimensional action figure. The cape is something special. While it shares a similair design with the chase version of the Superman toy, it is much straighter, lacking the windblown look and has a raised cowl. The cape is hard as a rock down...[See More]
Shazam!
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 6
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Advertised only under the name Shazam! due to the legal agreement with Marvel Comics, Captain Marvel is a fine figure. This is a good example of a major overhaul for the mold. While the upperarms and thighs remain the same, the forarms, upperbody, and feet are completly new. The head seems to be an attempt to replicate Alex Ross' design for Captain Marvel on a budget. The cape is really well done here. The cape is gold trimmed with four gold trimmed ribbons going down vertically on its left side painted in a shiny bronze. The cord that holds the cape to his body is the same shade of gold as the trim and gauntlets. It can't be moved as it's glue on. The lightning bolt on his chest is really well painted but faded on his lower abdomin. The belt has a few small paintless spots but it can be...[See More]
Superman (Blue Suit / Red Cape) (Chase)
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 6
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
I had been putting off this wave because when it first reached my backwater little corner of the world, they all had perhaps the sloppiest and most horrible paint applications I had ever seen in my life. After going out of stock and then being replenished, the ones on the shelves are much cleaner and look better so I decided to start grabbing them. The Superman I picked up is the normal suit chase figure to the lines Black Suit Superman which keeps it in line with the previous Eradicator toy. Crossing my fingers for a Steel and Superboy figures! Anyway, his body is the basic male mold for the line with the necessary alterations made for his belt, boot tops and a unique head sculpt with the long hair seen on Superman after his resurrection and the better part of the 90's. Why it's...[See More]
Luke Skywalker
Star Wars - Legacy Collection (Hasbro) - Blue / White Cards
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
Luke here is a pretty impressive figure. Having twelve points of articulation and an incredible sculpt allows for some great poses and play. Modeled after his apperance in the last movie in the series, Return of the Jedi, Luke is dressed in black with his right hand painted black to make it look like it's covered by a glove. The face is a fairly good mock-up of Mark Hamill though it looks older than it should. He comes with two lightsabers. The first is the hilt itself which can be attached to his belt by a peg, though you really have to force it into the hole. The second lightsaber is the ignited weapon. The lightsaber can be held in either hand and even dual wielded which is awesome. His other accessories are a pair of goggles with actual transparent lenses and a showl, both of which...[See More]
Hawkman
DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 6
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
After my Wal Mart finally restocked on DC figures, I decided to start picking up this wave mostly because I had never owned toys of some of these characters. Hawkman is an impressive offering to say the very least. All the same articulation as most Male Bodies for this line, Hawkman's distinguishing feature is of course his wings which are attached to his back by a hinge and the wings themselves extend by a swivel. The feather detail on his wings is really impressive and the paint applications are done well on the whole body with no sloping or thin spots that I can see. The hawk mask can not be removed, but I'm fine with that. His weapon assortment is a small sheild that can clip onto either hand, but is best for the right because the left hand is opened to hold his mace and dagger. The...[See More]
Silverbolt
Transformers - Universe (Hasbro) - MicroMaster
Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1
Bought this guy off a trader on the Allspark for 25 bucks which was a steal compared to what I'd have to pay on sites like Amazon for one in this good a condition. The toy is an unaltered mold of the original Silverbolt released for the Beast Wars toyline and repainted in a color scheme that can only be described as the most Pimptastic paint job ever on a Transformer. Pimpbolt retains the gimmick from his original release. In beast mode, pulling back on this tail feathers would case his wings to turn inward and and the buttons protruding from them to be depressed against his shoulders and firing the feather missiles. The missiles are a pain to fit into the wings because they have to be angled just so precisely. But when fired, they have some impressive power behind them. In robot mode,...[See More]
Mutt (with Junkyard)
G.I. Joe - 25th Anniversary (Hasbro) - Wave 10
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
I saw this guy when I was shopping around to hopefully find part of a potential trade, but when that fell through, I picked him up cheap like most Joe's and left happy with what I found, but sad that I couldn't find the thing for him. Either way, Mutt is awesome. Possible because he has a passing resemblance to Burt Reynolds. Mutt has all the standard articulation for modern Joe figures but his abdominal joint is negated because of his vest which you could probably take off, but I figure that you would have to just cut through it. He has two weapons, a silenced automatic pistol and a night stick which fit into the right and left hands respectivly the best. His left hand is encased in a thick black glove used for training attack dogs. His helmet has a detachable muzzle or air filter...[See More]
Unicron (Armada Series)
Transformers - Universe 2008 (Hasbro) - Exclusives
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Originally released as part of the Armada series, Unicron is the first Planet-former and the first representation of the Great Devourer in toy form. Rereleased as a Toys R Us exclusive, he does not disappoint. Eighteen inches tall in robot mode, Unicron is the second largest Transformer ever made, baring the Fortress Maximus mold. 28 Minicon powerlink ports are available for use in his Planet mode and 31 in robot mode not counting the three storage ports hidden in his shins and translucent stomach! Each hand is fully articulated and the right hand made of translucent plastic to allow an LED to light it up when the hand is pushed down. A button on his head can be pressed to make his eyes flash. Only three gimmick that uses Minicons is on his back in robot mode. Attaching a Minicon to the...[See More]

the only complaint i have with the unicron mold is he has no back end. I''d have rather they''d remade him like Primus where he is a complete planet.

Wait, what do you mean by "no back end"? Do you mean the flat part made up of his legs?

yeah. personally i want a unicron that is totally planet shaped like Primus in the cybertron series so he looks movie accurate. Guess i could start sculpting one as a kit for people lol.
Darth Vader (Lightsaber Attack!)
Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith (Hasbro) - Collection 1
Rated 3.00 stars by Collector1
Found this guy in a bargin bin for two or so bucks and decided "what the heck, it's Darth Vader". It's a good toy, not the best, but a good one despite its flaws. Like most Star Wars figures, he's inscale with the GI Joe toys which is awesome. The sculpt is well done but the tricorder-box thing on his chest could stand to be just a smidge higher than it is and the shoulder pads should be black instead of silver but I can live with them both just fine. The articulation is what you'd expect from a figure in this scale: functional but nothing overly impressive. Both forarms are swivel joints with the same going for the waist, neck, right shoulder and hips. His left shoulder is a ball-socket number with the hand in the Force Choke pose. The action feature for this toy is simple and a little...[See More]
Macross - Strike Valkyrie VF-1S (Movie)
Revoltech (Kaiyodo) - Basic Series
Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1
Most people would be familiar with Roy Focker from the 1980's animated series Robotech which was an almagram of three diffrent anime series Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada. Roy Focker originated from the series Macross and his personality toned down to just being a womanizing, hard drinking ace fighter pilot instead of a womanzizing, hard drinking, abrasive, over all jerk@$$ of an ace fighter pilot. This particular design for his customized Variable Fighter is apprantly based of its apperance in the movie Macross: Do You Remember Love? acording to the information written in English on the box. It's about 3-3/4" tall and, in true Macross style, has more missiles and ammunition than God. Two forarm mounted duel missile launchers, four...[See More]
