In the early 90's, Marvel comics launched the Age of Apocalypse event, in which Magneto leads the X-Men against Apocalypse's literal apocalypse in an alternate world. I just said apocalypse three times! They tried to reflect some of the character changes back in the main books. Magneto was still sort of villainous, so they made a long-haired clone of him who then joined the X-Men. He eventually sacrificed himself to save the world. He's back now, but let's not talk about it... I've been on my XTU kick for a while now. I still had an XTU figure left over, but wanted Cyclops to be the last one, for now anyway. But, for some reason, I had a hairless MCU Icarus head on my desk. I was going through my stockpile of heads, and came across Silver Sable. I thought, "what if?", so I put the SS hair on the Icarus head. It was instantly "Joseph"! Production on Magneto's clone began immediately. I ended up switching bodies with my previous Cannonball XTU figure to give him an open collar, so Joseph could get the proper one. The hair, while good, was augmented with speaker wire, to fill it out. Also, because the hair fits so snugly, I didn't need to glue it, so I was able to place Magneto's helmet on the head for some of the pics. And, the great thing about this figure is that he can stand with my XTU team, or with my regular X-men display, as this is his main costume. Thanks for looking. Comments are welcome. 'til next time, TommyX ![]() |
