Character:

One of the original Dreadnoks, Ripper was the dullard of the three, but the most physically imposing.

Design/Colors & Paint:

I’m doing two things with my Dreadnok set. First, most of them come with actual 1:18 motorcycles, perfectly designed by Hasbro for its Retro Ghostrider. Ripper, however, will get a unique and beefier motorcycle- the one from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Second, the dreaknoks are in more realistic and contemporary colors.

Ripper is made from Super7 and Retro Marvel pieces, which share the same clean design aesthetic in 5 POA format.

There was no Super7 Ripper, only Buzzer and Zartan. The Super7 Roadblock was a surprise win for best usable body match. It provides Ripper with a bigger frame than Buzzer or Torch, and keeps him in a tank top.

I’m building Ripper on a Roadblock body, Ripper gets a dirty grey muscle shirt, because Roadblock’s signature muscle shirt is also camouflage. Leaving Ripper in a camouflage shirt would draw attention to the body source being Roadblock.

I’m probably the only person who prefers the NS Ripper head design over the original. The NS design featured a ball cap and lamb chop sideburns with mustache instead of the ARAH’s mohawk and full beard. Why not do both? Here Ripper gets the shaved chin plus an optional ball cap to place over the mohawk as an accessory.

The Fortnite weapon has an oversized blade added to it, carrying forward Ripper’s signature weapon design.

Sculpting & Modifying:

The Ghostrider waist/legs (to boots) were blended with the Roadblock boots. Ghostrider hands were also blended onto the Roadblock arms. The blending was done with epoxy, which also made the mohawk and sunglasses lenses. The legs of the sunglasses are staples.

The mohawk is sculpted short so that the ball cap can fit over it. Lighter grey paint is used for the shorter surrounding scalp hair to sell the illusion of a more substantial mohawk.

About Chocolate Donut:

An original character, Chocolate Donut is Ripper’s mohawk-sporting cat. It’s another wonderful Playmobil figure, painted light tan and brown to match the color scheme of a chocolate long john.
