So, since I am a big fan of the classic Superboy/Adventures of Superboy TV Series, I decided that I should make Bizarro as he appeared in the series, played by the great Barry Meyers.
So, in order to do this figure, I decided to partially re-use the recipe that I created for my Superboy TV Series Superboy figure, I took a DC Universe Classics/Signature Super Powers 30th Anniversary Superman figure, and used the boil and pop method to remove his head. Next, I used my Dremel to sand down the ball joint attached to the Superman figure's neck into a cylindrical post. Once the cylindrical post was formed, I next used my Dremel to partially hollow out the head of a DC Collectibles New 52 Bizarro. Next, I mixed up a small batch of Milliput and jammed it into the newly formed cavity inside the head, and, while the Milliput was still soft, I jammed the cylindrical post attached to the neck of the Superman figure into the Milliput to create a small hole in the center of the head cavity and let it dry. Once the Milliput inside the head was dry, I used my Dremel to remove the Mohawk and ears. Next, I took the broken head from an early 2000's He-Man, and removed the hair from the head, partially hollowing out the inside of the hair so that it would fit onto the head. Next, I used a small amount of brush and roller cleaner to completely strip away the paint from the head and then I glued the hair in place atop the head with some Testors Modeling Cement. Once the hair was solidly glued on, I mixed up a small batch of Green Stuff to fill out the sides of the hair and cover over where the ears had been on the head originally. When the green stuff had fully dried, I shaped it with my Dremel to match the He-Man hair. With the hair now fully formed, I commenced a full repaint of the head with Testors Model Masters Flat White for the skin and Testors Model Masters Flat Black for the hair and eyes, followed by 2 generous coats of Flat Clear. While the Flat Clear was drying, I repainted the Superman figure's neck and hands with Testors Model Masters Flat White, again following it up with 2 generous coats of Flat Clear. Next, I used a little bit of Testors Modeling Cement to glue the newly constructed head in place. With the head now attached, I used a small amount of brush and roller cleaner and a Q-tip to strip away the symbol from the chest. Once satisfied with the removal of the symbol, I gave the upper torso two generous coats of Flat Clear to even the color on the upper body out. With the Flat Clear on the upper torso completely dry, I glued new symbols onto his chest and cape (both symbols were made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, these are drawn to match the symbols worn on Barry Meyers' Bizarro costume), and TA-DA...from the TV Series Superboy/Adventures of Superboy, Bizarro!!!
Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
