Victor Creed, the mutant known as Sabretooth, has been called the ultimate assassin, and with good reason. His superhuman senses, incredible endurance, spectacular agility and ultra-sharp claws make him murderously efficient. Sabretooth's mutant "fast-healing" ability makes the crazed villain as fearless as he is fearsome.

Presented here, as he appeared in X-Men #6, Sabretooth wears his new costume for the first time ever. In a story entitled "Farther Still", Sabretooth is hired by the mysterious organization known as the Hand to help them track down and capture his archenemy, Wolverine. The group needs the Canadian mutant because only Wolverine has access to a device called the C-Synthesizer which can stabilize the villain known as Omega Red's death factor and allow him to work for the Hand without having to drain the life force of others. Only Sabretooth's incredible animalistic sense can track Wolverine after he has escaped with the aid of his old ally, Maverick. After Sabretooth finds and confronts his two former partners, it appears that he has defeated them and will bring them back to his employers so he can collect his paycheck. But appearances can be deceiving.
