Martha Washington, born into an American nightmare in the Chicago slums, decides to fight for the American dream. On battlefields ranging from the Amazon jungle to outer space, Martha Washington proves that heroes don't always come from West Point; sometimes they come from the ghetto. Against all odds, she triumphs in a desperate battle for freedom. In this struggle she is cast in many roles: prisoner, runaway, lunatic, seditionist and soldier.
