SERVICE RECORD: Kira, Nerys. Assigned the rank of Major by the Bajoran provisional government. Major Kira's prior involvement in overthrowing the Cardassian rule of Bajor created a strong willed aggression in her. It is presumed by the Federation that Bajor offered Major Kira's liaison services to Starfleet to eliminate her dissident voice from the politics of the Bajoran provisional government. She serves Deep Space Nine as Commander Sisko's First Officer. Given her prior terrorist activities, which she felt were necessary to attain independence for her people, her loyalty had been questioned. Starfleet records now show a decisive allegiance to maybe the Federation. She has accepted that the alliance between the Federation and the Bajorans is necessary to maintain a lasting peace and independence from the Cardassians. A quick, responsive First Officer, Major Kira has proven herself quite adept when Deep Space Nine is under Red Alert conditions.

STATION NOTE: As First Officer aboard Deep Space Nine, Major Kira has performed well under the pressure of system failures. Though she may be emotionally erratic from time-to-time due to her interest in sense of justice, Major Kira can improvise effectively and react quickly when the station or its residents are threatened.
