Peter Parker gained incredible spider-like powers after he was bitten by a radioactive spider during a nuclear science experiment! He gained the proportionate strength, speed and agility of the spider, not to mention its incredible early warning, "spider-sense". He now uses these powers to fight evil because he knows with great power, comes great responsibility. Spidey can even mutate into a bat when he needs additional power to take on his most vile villains.
