IG-88 is actually 4 droids named IG-88A, IG-88B, IG-88C and IG-88D, all sharing the same consciousness. Moments after being created as the most advanced and intelligent assassin droid at Holowan Labs, IG-88A slaughtered his creators and copied his consciousness into three more IG-88 droids. Together (or by himself, whichever way you want to look at it) the IG's masterminded the "Droid Revolution" which came dangerously close to succeeding. Boba Fett destroyed IG-88B on Bespin, also destroyed C and D over Tatooine during Shadows of the Empire. IG-88A was destroyed when the second Death Star blew up after placing his consciousness into it's main computer.
Seen during the movie on the Executor's bridge is B, later, the destroyed droid can be seen in the background of the furnace room in Cloud City as Chewbacca retrieves C-3PO parts
