Skystriker grew up on an Air Force base in Maryland where his father was in charge of flight operations. Fascinated with fighter jets, he decided to make a career for himself in the United States Air Force. Upon graduation from the USAF Academy, he went to Officer's Flight Training School to become a pilot. After he received his "wings," Skystriker joined the G.I. Joe team just in time for their first attacks on Cobra Island. He shot down over fifteen enemy aircraft, severely crippling their island defenses.
