Joseph Martin was a college student who, during an attack of Monarch to STAR Labs, was reched by an energy discharge. His skin and hair became invisible and became capable to shoot radiation blasts. The delusional Joseph began believing himself the Atomic Skull, the hero of an old movie serial; believing himself a hero wouldn't be bad, if not for the fact that, in his delusion, he can see anyone as a villain, including civilians and Superman.
