Mutt had five dogs while growing up. He had a particular knack for training them to obey his every command. One time, when a prowler tried to break into his family's home, Mutt ordered his dogs not to bark as they surrounded and contained the would-be thief. The dogs did what they were told and the culprit was later arrested by the police. Now that's control. When he was older, Mutt enlisted in the Army where, after boot camp, he was scooped up by the G. I. Joe K-9 battalion.

Mutt is a natural with animals. He likes them and they like him. The problem is that he gets along better with dogs than he does with humans. He and his K-9 dog Junkyard have worked together so long, they no longer need to give each other audible or visual signals. It's almost as if they function as one organism. If the bad guys decide to put up a fight, they'd better be prepared to get ripped to shreds by a howling, savage beast, and then they'll have to contend with the dog!
