Ambassador K'Ehleyr is the Federation's direct link with the Klingon High Council. The fact that she is half human and half Klingon makes her the perfect person for the job. K'Ehleyr is an invaluable resource to both cultures because she understands both Federation procedure and Klingon ways. Intelligent, highly independent, and a skillful diplomat, K'Ehleyr has proven herself worthy of her position on many occasions. Case-in-point - Stardate 42901.3 - Ambassador K'Ehleyr works with Lieutenant Worf under the direction of Captain Picard to successfully capture a Klingon sleeper ship. Through a relationship with Lieutenant Worf, she has one son named Alexander.

The Klingon Duras killed Ambassador K'Ehleyr in order to protect his claim as the next Klingon leader. Lieutenant Worf, in turn, killed Duras. K'Ehleyr is survived by her son, Alexander.
