Quartz, one of the last of his kind, is from a race of rock-like beings who are able to manipulate the shape of their bodies. Equipped with a back mounted power source, he pumps energy into his body allowing him to survive outside his planets atmosphere. Armed with nothing more than a devastating left hook, Quartz is one of the Accords most valuable assets.

Rock monsters are a little samey to me. Quartz bucks that trend by being a rock monster with cyberware. To address the elephant in the room (pipe down, Poacher, you'll get your turn), he does lack the rock chunks shown with the prototype. I don't personally miss them; they just look like bits of his own body, and if he was meant to throw them with his spring-action waist, the remarkably weak spring renders that moot anyway. We do get an alternate hand (fist) for the right side, at least.
What gets me is the construction. Being made entirely of clear PVC rather than ABS grants it significant durability, and after 20+ years, even the balljoint shoulders are showing no stress fractures whatsoever. Funko could take a lesson here.
