PROFILE: Riker, William, disguised as a Malcorian, was assigned to a reconnaissance mission to make 'first contact' with Malcoria III, a less advanced planet with an emerging space program, directed by Malcorian science minister Mirasta. Riker sustained injury that required medical care, and it was discovered that Riker was not Malcorian. Riker attempted to escape from the hospital where he was being held, but was taken by Malcorian security officer, Krola, injected with dangerous drugs and interrogated. Kropla faked his own death in order to implicate Riker as his murderer in a plan to squelch support for the Malcorian movement toward space program expansion and extra-planetary relations. Krola's plan was exposed by Dr. Crusher.
