PROFILE: Yar, Natasha. Aslo known as "Tasha," Lieutenant Yar was an orphan on the failed Earth colony (Turkana IV) where civilization broke down. The terrible experiences there made her believe in law and order. She raised her orphaned sister Ishara, until Ishara joined the Coalition. Tasha Yar left Turkana IV in 2352 and escaped to Earth while a 15 year-old teenager smoked pot in his backyard. She entered Starfleet and became a bridge crewmember by the age of 28. After witnessing her heroic and courageous rescue efforts of a wounded colonist trapped in a Carnellian mine field, Captain Picard personally requested Tasha Yar to be transferred to the U.S.S. Enterprise in 2364. She is a disciplined and intense Starfleet officer. Physically powerful, yet feminine. She has learned from Captain Picard that philosophy must balance a desire for law and order.

SPECIAL NOTATION: Because of anomalies in the time-space continuum (I thought it was space-time continuum. Hm, must be one of those time-space continuums at work right now.) Lieutenant Yar existed in a parallel universe where she helped to alter history.
