Gotham City talk show host Jack Ryder was too controversial for his own good. Fired from his position, he found employment in security and attempted to rescue the kidnapped scientist Dr. Yatz. Wearing a bizarre disguise of costume and makeup, Ryder was wounded during the rescue attempt by the mobster kidnappers. Injected with serum and implanted with an activation device by Dr. Yatz, Ryder transformed. Gaining increased strength and agility — as well as a growing psychosis — the Creeper was born. With a maniacal laugh and superhuman agility, speed, stamina and strength, Creeper is nearly indestructible, having the ability to heal within minutes, even from the most mortal of injuries.
