The son of a lighthouse keeper and an outcast from Atlantis, Arthur Curry discovered at a young age he possessed many superhuman abilities. Underwater breathing, submarine speed, superhuman strength and the ability to communicate with sea life was a part of his Atlantean heritage. Defender of the oceans, and King of the Seven Seas, Aquaman can't survive outside of his element very long, and was a key original member of the JLA.
